WHAT IS SOUND HEALING THERAPY?
In the words of Tony Nec, Principal of the Sound Healing Academy:
“Sound Healing is a heart-full form of healing grounded in science, inspired by spirit and manifested through creativity. [It] is a powerful therapy that combines different healing sounds, music, and special sound healing instruments to improve our multidimensional well-being by creating a beautiful experience where all layers of our luminous energy field (body, mind, soul, spirit) are awakened gently and lovingly.”
Healing with sound, which is deeply rooted in ancient cultures and civilizations, is one of the most natural forms of healing known to man. Since ancient times, the principles of sound healing have been used to help alleviate mental disorders and bring about emotional and physical healing. Drums and rattles are two of the earliest known musical instruments - shamans all over the world chanted and used drums and rattles to heal their tribespeople. It is now understood that the low frequency sounds of the drums and higher frequency of rattles would work together to help accelerate healing. Indigenous Australians used didgeridoos to aid in the healing of broken bones, muscle tears and other kinds of illnesses.
Tibetan monks believed that the powerful vibrations created by their use of brass singing bowls, were the sound of the universe manifesting. Demetrius, a Greek traveler circa 2000 BCE, recorded that ancient Egyptians used vowel sound chants in healing rituals in special chambers in their pyramids. Pythagoras of Greece was reputed to have cured many ailments of the spirit, soul, and body, by having certain therapeutic sound frequencies played in the presence of the sufferer. He is considered by many to be the founder of music therapy.
Moving forward in time, sound healing practitioners have a wide range of instruments to draw on; from vocal chanting to Tibetan or crystal singing bowls, to chimes and gongs, to shamanic drums and various types of rattles, just to name a few. The vibrations of sound healing instruments penetrate deep into our bodies. Sound vibration pulses are conducted through the connective tissue, blood, lymph and spinal fluids, cartilage, muscle tissue and bone, and are considered to have significant therapeutic consequences.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SOUND HEALING SESSION?
A sound healing session is a powerful, immersive experience, that can help you to:
The session takes place in our cozy space. We conduct a brief pre-session assessment with the client and then they are settled on a massage table. We then begin by scanning the body to help us determine where areas of imbalance may exist.
Once that is done, we know where to concentrate the healing energies and the sound healing session can commence. At this point, all the client needs to do is just allow the different sounds to flow over and around them and relax.
Using a combination of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan brass bowls, shamanic frame drum, crystal pyramid chime, rattles and gong, we work around and over the body, allowing intuition to guide us as we move through the process.
SOUND BATH EVENINGS
We also offer Sound Bath Evenings for up to 5 people in our cozy womb-like space. What is involved?

- We generally begin with a guided meditation to set the scene.
- Next, we bring on the bowls and other tools and fill the space up with all the wonderful sound vibrations they create. playing continuously for about 1/2 hour.
- Finally, we end the session with oracle cards (if desired) and a chance for our guests to try out the instruments.
Here are some of our tools:

QUARTZ CRYSTAL SINGING BOWLS are made of 99.99% pure quartz crystal.
They are tuned to the 7 note musical scale of C,D,E,F,G,A and B and each bowl resonates at the same frequency as its associated chakra, which is why they are so effective when used for sound healing. When the bowls are sounded, you not only hear them with your ears, but you also feel the vibrations throughout your body.
and SHAMANIC FRAME DRUM
The sound of the drum can help release the tight hold of your conscious mind and allow your thoughts to float and travel.
